South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group and People For Puget Sound have been awarded funding to complete a feasibility study for restoration of the estuary including the shoreline and beach at Titlow Lagoon, and re-establishment of a fish passage between the lagoon and the Tacoma Narrows. Project efforts will also engage the public in the revitalization of Titlow Park’s natural habitats through education and volunteerism.

To solicit the opinions of the community to restoration actions at Titlow Park, a survey has been created. The results of the survey will be presented to Metro Parks Tacoma and incorporated in a feasibility and design report detailing restoration options at Titlow Park.

Puget Sound supports several endangered and threatened species including several populations of salmon. Metro Parks has the opportunity to restore salmon habitat and shoreline functions in Titlow Park. Would you be supportive of these restoration efforts.

For the past 60 years, Titlow Park has leased land to the Tacoma Outboard Association, a private membership boating club with social facilities and a boat launching ramp that are managed by the club for the benefit of members.

Titlow Lodge has been a key feature of the park since it was first constructed in 1911 as the Hotel Hesperides.
