18. Great Danes Veterinary expenses are much higher than smaller breeds. Can you afford not only the higher maintenance costs but required obedience training and medical (vaccines, heartworm preventative, check-ups, ect.) needs? Would you be willing to pay up to possibly $3,000.00 for an emergency bloat surgery?

19. Great Danes have shortened life spans and can have breed specific health issues like heart problems, arthritis, joint or bone problems, hip or elbow displasia, or gastric torsion. Are you aware of this?

20. Great Danes must be kept on a low protein (less than 25%), high quality, nutritious diet for optimal bone, joint, and muscle growth. Puppy food is required for the first 18-24 months fed in 2-3 meals daily. Are you able to buy high quality dog food even if that means increased price according to this feeding regime?

Great Danes have been known to die after eating Rawhide bones/treats and Greenies treats, in addition to Chicken or Poultry Bones. Are you willing to keep your Great Dane's diet free of these hazardous "treats"?
